Day Six on the Camino Primitivo. This morning there were so many fond goodbyes. We all sat on the porch of our Albergue giving our goodbyes for the day. After only five days we feel very connected by the challenges we have faced and overcome. Some of us will not continue due to injury or pain, some will continue so far ahead I will not catch up. As I looked at us all, beginning our day, people from dozens of countries who were strangers only a few days past, I felt a hope that the Albergue is the world’s front porch. A place where everyone is a neighbor and a soon to be friend. It is truly beautiful that in less than a week we can hold each other in such confidence and harmony. Then we went our separate ways and the walking began! For every up there is a down. We walked up a mountain and then down it and then up a second mountain. It was crazy to be able to see your destination far off on another range and think it impossible to get that far, then one hour later you arrive. Everyday assures me that my feet are capable, it is the path in my mind that is difficult. And tonight a restorative sleep with rain falling and church bells ringing. #caminoadventuress #caminodesantiago #caminoprimitivo #adventuretherapy #metastaticbreastcancer
