HELPING FAMILIES IMPACTED BY CANCER

FIND THE GIFT OF CANCER

ONE OUT OF EVERY THREE PEOPLE IN THE U.S.

will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, that number doesn’t include the family and friends that will also be impacted by this disease.

While many organizations concentrate on the physical challenges of cancer, Adventure Therapy was created specifically to help heal the equally devastating emotional side effects of the disease.

Adventure Therapy Foundation, a nonprofit organization, believes that by acknowledging these side effects, for those impacted by cancer and their loved ones, a more comprehensive and genuine healing can occur.

No one tells you about the emotional side effects of cancer. We do. We not only talk about them, we work to break the destructive cycles they create. We do this by teaching about each side effect and how to combat it.

WE COMBAT FEAR THROUGH ELIMINATING UNCERTAINTY

Combatting Fear

Our programs, book, blog and podcast all help to educate an individual as they journey through cancer, helping them to not be held back by the unknown.

WE COMBAT ISOLATION THROUGH MAKING CONNECTIONS

Combatting Isolation

We have established Kinship Groups to foster connection through common interests as well as a variety of local events and retreats.

WE COMBAT BROKEN IDENTITY BY REBUILDING SELF

Overcoming Broken Identity

Working through who a person is after the diagnosis by offering our coaching program, taking individuals and families past being patients and restoring them to being people.

Throughout every stage, from diagnosis to treatment to recovery, cancer unveils gifts that we might never have discovered otherwise. So remain vigilant for the treasures hidden within your journey!

What is the Kinship Program?

What is the Kinship Program? It is educational, experiential, and relational.  Each Kinship group is designated according to shared life experiences (teachers, mothers of children with cancer, women with metastatic disease, Spanish speakers, families experiencing loss, young moms with cancer, etc) Participants make a one-year commitment to the members of their group while they connect, grow and share new adventures together.

What is RISE?

RISE is Adventure Therapy’s coaching program! This virtual platform provides individuals impacted by cancer the opportunity to walk through guided discussion topics from the privacy of their homes, at a pace that fits their lifestyle. Each module addresses one identified topic around wellness and cancer. The virtual nature of the platform allows patients across economic, ethnic, geographic, or cancer types to engage equally.
